Amoray Lighting debuts at the 2016 Canadian Pool & Spa Conference and Expo
Amoray Lighting from Waterloo Ontario Canada received a warm and enthusiastic reception from a great number of attendees at the 36th Canadian Pool & Spa Conference & Expo, on Dec. 5 to 8, 2016 at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Fall Ontario. According to the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada (PHTCC), organizers of the event, representatives of more than 400 companies from across Canada attended and 130 supply companies participated in the expo as exhibitors.

Visitors to the inaugural Amoray Lighting booth included a large cross section of professional builders, dealers and service companies, all of whom expressed interest in the unique features of this advanced underwater LED light. First and foremost, Amoray Lighting representatives received praise for offering a cost effective retrofit solution for all types of installations including vinyl, concrete and fiberglass pools. “So, this light just attaches directly to the pool wall with no niche”, was the most common observation about the underwater LED light heard at the expo. Why is this so important? “Basically, it boils down to savings on installation costs. Pool owners are thrilled to learn that installation cost can be cut by up to 75%”, explains Patrick Dyck, the owner of the Waterloo based company.

Most of the people we spoke to were pleased to learn that there was finally a 12 Volt pool light that would meet the needs of their customers in terms of quality, versatility and cost for both new and retrofit applications. Up until now, the most popular 12 Volt option for retrofits are those that fit into the pool’s existing return jets. One of the main drawbacks of this method is that pool owners are limited as to light location and direction. One attendee observed, “If the jet is facing the house, then the light is facing the house which is much less attractive.” Amoray LED lights can be placed virtually anywhere the homeowner desires.

The Amoray team spent much of their time speaking with swimming pool professions about the various simplified installation methods that minimize and in some situations may even eliminate the need for excavating, concrete cutting and fishing electrical wiring through conduit. A number of visitors inquired about the installation where there is an existing light and niche. This may be the simplest installation of all with the niche adaptor ring included with the light. The existing wiring can be used with the proper connection method. All that is required is to connect the transformer (also included) and plug it into a 110 Volt receptacle. Total time to complete may be as little as 1 hour.

The Amoray Lighting display included a fully functioning light in a water-filled glass cylinder, allowing visitors to see the variety of colours and colour transitions in action, all at the push of a button with the remote control that is included with the light. In addition to the brightness of the light, what caught the attention of many was the ability to match the bezel (outer ring) to the pool liner. With nothing more than a photo of the existing pool liner, an outer ring can be order to make the pool light fully integrate into the appearance of the pool. Numerous pool builders commented on existing customers they knew would really appreciate this feature.

Amoray lighting would like to thank everyone who attended our booth for their sincere interest and as well extend our gratitude to the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada for their hard work in organizing this important event for the pool and hot tub industry in Canada.
